ACCOUNT OPENING

How do I open an account?

To begin trading today, please complete our online application form, which you can access if you click here. The form is completely secure and will take you about 10 minutes to complete. We then conduct an electronic check to confirm your identity and address. You will know if your account has been activated within ½ hour of applying (assuming you do so between 0800 and 1730, Monday to Friday).

If we are unable to confirm your identity and address, we will require additional information in the form of a copy of your passport/photographic driving licence and a copy of a utility bill or a bank statement.  You can send these documents either by fax to +44 (0)20 7456 7013, by email to support@etradespreadbetting.com.

Once an account has been activated based on copies of these documents you will be able to fund the account and start trading. We will then send an account confirmation letter containing an account activation code.  Once this code has been emailed back to Customer Support the account will be fully activated.  Please note that funds cannot be withdrawn from an account until we have received the documentation and the account activation code.

What type of account can I have?

E*TRADE Spread Betting offer deposit accounts, which means that you can begin trading once you have deposited funds into your account.

Can somebody else trade on my account?

Yes, you can nominate a family member or friend by completing a Power of Attorney form. Please contact us for further details.

What hours can I trade?

We are open for trading from Sunday 23:00 until Friday 21:15, UK time.
